College Radio’s Alumni, I-82, is a classic alternative Internet radio station. It’s a tribute to the University of Southern Indiana’s legendary college radio station (AM820 WSWI) from the late 80s to the mid 90s; or, as my therapist calls it, “early onset mid-life crisis mixed with Peter Pan syndrome.” The station is based out of a home studio in Denver. In its first week of broadcasting, it was the third most listened to classic alternative station on Live365, with listeners in 23 states and 18 countries.

I-82 features alternative music from the 80s and 90s. Its playlist is inspired by WSWI (Evansville), as well as other alternative stations such as WOXY (Oxford, OH), WLIR (New York), KROQ (Los Angeles) and Q 101 (Chicago); and CMJ and 120 Minutes.

I-82 officially launched at 7:00 a.m. (MST) on January 17, 2014, with Elvis Costello’s “Radio Radio” as the first song.
